Operational Questionnaire

Configurations Items (security assets) 

  • What categories of CI’s do you want to track (camera, door sensor, badge, computer, mobile device, vehicle, speaker, biometric device, auto locker, card reader, access panel, barrier, camera server, turnstile, hub for cameras or sensors) 
  • What type of data do you have and want to use/track for each category of CI? 

Protected assets 

  • What class of Protected Assets do you have and want to track (floor, room, area, money, IT, vehicle, etc.)? 
  • Is there a hierarchy associated with your protected assets? 

Library 

  • Do you currently have any knowledge base articles for your processes (work instructions, SOPs, playbooks, etc)? 
  • How is it structured? 
  • Where is it kept? 

Email Setup 

  • What is the email address you want to use as an inbound email address for incident creation? 
  • Are there any emails/domains that you would like to generate alerts in Bearing?
    • Examples: International SOS, Everbridge, Dataminr, Integrators 

User Roles 

  • Do you currently have assignment groups within ServiceNow that can be used in Bearing processes? 
  • Do you have approvers defined? Should they be used as groups or individuals? 
  • What are the key roles involved in your physical security operations (e.g., administrators, agents, auditors)? 

Assessments 

  • Do you have existing assessments in use? If so, what? 
  • Do you have pre-existing templates or standards for security assessments? 
  • How often do you perform assessments, and who oversees them? 
  • Do you have assessment questions? In which format? 

Data Sources 

  • Where does your security-related data originate (e.g., physical systems, logs, manual entry)? 
  • Are there specific formats or standards we need to support for data import/export? 

Incident Management and Critical Events 

  • What processes are in place for managing critical events or emergencies? 
  • Who is responsible for decision-making during such events? 

Locations 

  • Does your location structure have hierarchy? If so, can you provide an example.
  • Populate location data in the dev/demo instance or provide exported location data in JSON/CSV format. Our implementation team can help if you have any questions.
