Release Notes: Version 1.4.0
Take a look at what's new in Bearing's 1.4.0 release.
🤖 AI & Automation
- Bearing AI (Now Assist) — Employees can submit physical security requests through a natural language chat interface. Just describe the need (e.g., "I lost my badge") and the AI handles the rest.
-
MS Teams Notifications — Your Teams channel is automatically notified with a clickable link whenever a new PSI or PSO is created — no need to monitor the workspace.
📋 Operations & Compliance
- Training Management — Assign required trainings to users, set due dates, track completions, and attach certificates. Overdue assignments are flagged automatically.
- Guard Tour QR Code Scanning — Guards complete patrol checkpoints by scanning QR codes at physical locations from their mobile device. Manual check-in remains available as a fallback.
- Alerts Processing Workflow — A structured triage workflow for alert records, with clear actions to route alerts into a PSI, Security Request, or Task — keeping queues clean and work traceable.
🔧 Data & Asset Management
- Import Manager — A centralized import hub for bulk-loading security hardware and training records via a single guided wizard with downloadable templates.
- Enhanced CI Data Tracking — CI records now include fields for firmware, integrator, warranty status, service plan, and depreciation schedule for full asset lifecycle visibility.
📍 Incident Management
- Impacted Locations & Users in Intelligence PSI — These fields (previously only on Critical Event PSIs) are now available on Intelligence PSIs for consistent impact tracking.
- Site Security Assessment Enhancements — Assessors receive a supplemental email with direct links to the assessment form, asset, and related task. Assessment answers now display as readable text instead of numeric values.
- Category/Subcategory Reorganization — Incident and operation categories have been restructured for better alignment (e.g., Severe Weather is now under Critical Event). Existing records are unaffected.
🖥️ Platform & UX Improvements
- Redesigned Process Configuration — Admin process configuration is now a tile-based dashboard, with each process having its own dedicated settings page.
- Workspace Menu Reorganization — Incidents and Operations are now separate menu sections in the sidebar for easier navigation. Site Security Assessments and Guard Tours live under Operations.
- Smarter Workspace Search — Search now stays within the Physical Security Operations Workspace and opens results in the right view. (Note: the workspace has been renamed from "Security Operations Workspace.")
- Access Enhancements — Task lists now show all group-assigned work; non-Bearing users can edit tasks assigned to them; task access is no longer blocked by parent incident restrictions.
- Role Rename: PS Agent → SOC Operator — Updated throughout the platform to align with industry-standard terminology. No changes to permissions or access.
