User Guide: Check Wizard for Guard Tours

Overview

Guard Tour checks (checkpoints) can be created two ways: using the standard New button (classic UI) or using the Check Wizard (guided workspace experience). Both are supported paths — this guide covers how to use each, and how to decide which one to use.

What's New
  • Create Check action — launch the wizard directly from the tour configuration.
  • Guided wizard UI — a step-by-step interface walks you through defining the check, its associated CI/Protected Asset, and its assessment content, replacing manual multi-record setup.
  • The New button remains available for classic UI check creation — it has not been replaced or removed.
  • Use New if you're working in the classic UI and want direct, record-level control over check creation.
  • Use Check Wizard if you're working in the guided workspace experience and want a step-by-step flow through the check, its CI/Protected Asset, and its assessment content.
  • Both buttons create fully valid checks attached to the tour — the difference is workflow and UI, not functionality.
Creating a Check from New (Classic UI)
        1. Open the Guard Tour (PS Operation) you are configuring.
        2. In the Checks related list, click New.
        3. Fill in the check record fields manually (CI/Protected Asset, assessment content, etc.).
        4. Submit to save the check to the tour.
        5. Open the Guard Tour (PS Operation) you are configuring.
        6. Click the Create Check action to launch the wizard.
        7. Follow the steps to define the checkpoint details and associations, then finish — the check is created and attached to the tour.
        For Administrators

Note: the New button's on-click behavior can technically be redirected via a client script to launch the Check Wizard instead. This is not recommended — classic UI still needs a direct way to create checks, and redirecting New would remove that path for classic UI users. Both buttons should remain in place.
