User Guide: CI Asset Management Fields
User Guide: CI Asset Management Fields
Release: 1.4.0
Overview
The CI Asset Management Fields enhancement adds three new asset lifecycle tracking fields to Configuration Item (CI) records in the Bearing platform. These fields - Warranty, Service Plan, and Depreciation Schedule - allow teams to track financial and maintenance information directly on CI records. Asset-related information is also now visible in the CI Attributes section, so SOC Agents can view lifecycle data without navigating to separate asset records.
New Fields on CI Records
1. Warranty (Checkbox)
Indicates whether the CI is currently under warranty.
- ☑️ Checked (Yes) = Device is under active manufacturer or extended warranty
- ☐ Unchecked (No) = Warranty has expired, was voided, or does not apply
When to check Yes:
- Device is within the manufacturer warranty period
- An extended warranty has been purchased and is active
- Warranty was recently renewed
When to leave unchecked:
- Warranty period has expired
- Used or refurbished equipment with no warranty
- Warranty has been voided
2. Service Plan (Checkbox)
Indicates whether the CI has an active service or maintenance plan.
- ☑️ Checked (Yes) = Active service/maintenance plan coverage
- ☐ Unchecked (No) = No active service plan
3. Depreciation Schedule (Dropdown)
Defines the asset depreciation period in years (1-20 years).
