User Guide: HR Investigation Catalog Item
Overview
A new Service Portal catalog item gives HR personnel a structured, accessible way to submit investigation requests. The record producer surfaces the existing Physical Security Investigation fields in a simple form and follows the standard Bearing workflow pattern.
What's New
- HR Investigation record producer on the Service Portal.
- Request-first flow with optional approval — the record producer creates a Physical Security Request, so an approval step (e.g., a security director or HR manager reviewing before the investigation proceeds) can be applied. The investigation incident is then generated from the request, and the request closes when the child incident closes. At deployment, incident creation can be automated to skip manual approval — a customer-level configuration.

How to Use
- Open the Bearing catalog on the portal and choose HR Investigation.
- Select the Investigation Type, the employee(s) involved, and the location; describe the incident briefly; submit.
- If approval is configured, the request routes to the approval group first. Once approved (or immediately, if approval is skipped), the Physical Security Investigation incident is created and assigned to the investigations team, which manages the work through tasks.
