Overview
The Import Manager is a centralized hub in the Bearing platform for all data imports. It replaces scattered import methods with a single, guided wizard experience. All imports - whether for training records or security hardware - are now done from one place with step-by-step instructions, downloadable templates, and clear results reporting.
Navigation: Bearing Workspace → Configuration → Import Manager tab

Part 1: Training Import
Step 1: Access Training Import
- Navigate to Workspace → Configuration → Import Manager
- Select Training Import from the available categories
- Review the informational message about how training imports work
Step 2: Download the Template
- Click Next or Select Training Records
- Click Download Template
- Save the CSV file to your computer
The template includes columns for: training name, description, duration, and other required fields, with example data rows to guide you.
Step 3: Fill In Your Data
- Open the downloaded CSV file in Excel or a CSV editor
- Fill in your training data following the template structure
- Remove the example rows
- Save the file
Important: Ensure all owner/assignee accounts exist in the system before importing. Check for duplicate training names to avoid creating duplicate records.
Step 4: Upload and Import
- Click Next to proceed to the import step
- Click Choose File or drag and drop your prepared CSV file
- Click Upload or Import
- A progress bar shows upload and processing status in real time
Step 5: Review Import Results
After the import completes, a summary screen shows:

Step 6: Verify Success
- Click Go to Target Table to navigate directly to the Trainings table
- Verify your new training records appear in the list
- Open individual records to confirm data accuracy
Part 2: Security Hardware Import
Step 1: Access Security Hardware Import
- Navigate to Workspace → Configuration → Import Manager
- Select Security Hardware Import
- Review the informational message about importing to the CI database
Step 2: Select Hardware Type and Download Template
Available templates include:
- Security Camera
- Access Card
- HVAC
- NVR/DVR
- Card Reader
- Sensors
- And more
- Select your hardware type from the list
- Click Download [Hardware Type] Template
- Save the CSV file
Step 3: Fill In Hardware Data
Open the template and fill in:
- Device name/identifier
- Location
- Serial number
- Manufacturer and model
- IP address (if applicable)
- Any hardware-specific fields in the template
Step 4: Upload, Import, and Verify
- Click Next and upload your completed file
- Monitor the progress bar during processing
- Review the results summary (successes, errors, skipped records)
- Click Go to Target Table to verify the CI records were created correctly
